COLLINGSWOOD, N.J. -- Antiques appraiser Shaula C. Wright of Cherry Hill (above, left) studies an early 20th-century pro baseball photo at Camden County Historical Society's "Antiques on the Avenue" event. Attendees brought a wide range of heirlooms and objects for appraisal. One of the most eye catching was this 1919 bronze bird sun dial (above, right) sculpture. Created by an Italian artist, it once sat atop an ornately carved marble stand in the backyard of a Haddonfield mansion and now has an insurance value of $7,000.

Magnolia antiques dealer Carol Pollock was also on hand to evaluate antiques such as this early 20th-century wooden toy (above, left) and a vase (above, right) that turned out to be a modern reproduction based on an earlier period piece.

Experiencing a real "Road Show" moment, were (above, left) Phyllis Omenson of Cherry Hill and her daughters Diane Diberardo and Lynn Omenson, both of Westmont. The senior Mrs. Omenson brought in a glass plate for appraisal and was stunned to learn it was a highly collectible piece of Fenton carnival glass worth $1,000. Nearby, Jan and Bob Twitchell of Haddonfield (above, right) learned that one of their antique chairs was also of significant value.
