PINE HILL, N.J. -- Fall foliage at its peak was the backdrop against which the Camden County Historical Society held its Nov. 11, 2005, annual fundraising event at the Pine Hill Golf Club. Sitting atop the county's highest point, the facility offered panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.

Designed to resemble an Adirondack lodge, the clubhouse contains a large restaurant and banquet rooms. Inside features fireplaces, rustic furniture and glass walls that look out across the lower county landscape.

The Historical Society's event was an antique gala that also served as a ceremony for presenting the families of Cherry Hill's Springdale Farm with the 2005 Historic Preservation Award. Above, left, the first arrivals select their tables. Others (above, right) queue up for appraisals of their antiques -- all attendees were invited to bring two items for evaluation.

Three local antique appraisers were on hand to examine items. Here, James Crawford, a Collingswood property appraiser and estate consultant, takes a close look at a collection of old watches.
